Scholarships

These Scholarships were provided by the generosity of individuals who support Central in its endeavor to develop servant-leaders for the church.

All recipients of the scholarship must demonstrate Christian character, growth, and leadership abilities. Recipients must be seeking a bachelor’s degree from Central.

FULL-TUITION SCHOLARSHIP

Each semester, Central has 100 open Full-Tuition Scholarships available for new or transferring students. This scholarship will equal the cost of tuition up to 18 hours of study per semester.

Requirements:

  • Be admitted into a degree or certificate program on our Moberly campus.
  • Continue to meet Central’s published Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements (CGPA of 2.00 and 70% credit completion ratio.  See the Academic Catalog for more information.)
  • Complete at least 80% of Christian Service hours each semester.
  • Attend at least 80% of Chapel Services.

Eligible students will be awarded this scholarship upon admittance.

KENNY BURGUS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established by the Burgus family in memory of 23 year old Kenny Burgus who died as a result of an ATV accident.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • the recipient should be a junior or senior male student
  • pursuing a 4 year degree in Cross Cultural, Preaching, or Youth and Family Ministry from Central Christian College of the Bible
  • maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • regularly attend a Restoration Christian Church/Church of Christ
  • application due June 30th of each year.

"GO YE" SCHOLARSHIP

This was established by Tom & Margery Plumb to encourage Central’s international students to continue their plans to work in a mission activity after graduation.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • the recipient should be an international student who is an immersed believer
  • must have two years of training at Central
  • must plan to work in a mission activity after graduation
  • have at least a 2.0 GPA
  • be a member of good standing in a Restoration Church.

THE "JACK" SPRATT SCHOLARSHIP FOR PREACHING

This scholarship, named after Walter “Jack” Spratt, was established to assist and encourage preachers in their studies at Central.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • A male student currently preaching at a Christian Church
  • No prior theological degree
  • Enrolling for the first course or first full-time semester of education at Central
  • Applicants must submit a 1 page essay entitled, “How I hope attending CCCB will make me a better preacher”
  • The scholarship will match the amount paid by the church for either the first course (up to $250) or first semester (up to $500) of enrollment

THE DANIEL D. SCHANTZ SCHOLARSHIP FOR EDUCATION STUDENTS

This scholarship was established to assist and encourage Central’s students as they pursue a career in Christian education.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • An eligible sophomore student who has earned at least 30 hours of credit
  • Must be enrolled in a Christian Education or Teacher Education Program
  • Submit an essay entitled “Why I want to be a teacher”

LINCOLN SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship in honor of Roy F. Lincoln to recognize the leadership and service he gave to Central Christian College in the 34 years he served on the College’s Board of Directors.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • the recipient must demonstrate financial need
  • must be a junior or senior student
  • have at least a 2.0 GPA
  • be a member in good standing in a Restoration Church

THE DR. GARY D. BAILEY SCHOLARSHIP FOR EXCELLENCE IN BIBLICAL LANGUAGE

This scholarship in honor of Dr. Gary Bailey was established to encourage students who excel in the study of biblical languages.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Preaching, Missions, Biblical Languages, or Christian Ministry
  • Have at least 1 “A” in their first year of study of the Greek Language
  • Are enrolled in an additional Greek or Hebrew language course
  • Submit a essay entitled “How will my study of Biblical Languages help spread the Gospel”

THE VICTOR HAYES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established in memory of Victor Hayes.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • African-American male student
  • Completed 2 semesters at CCCB
  • Pursuing an ABS or Bachelors Degree
  • Met the Full-tuition requirements
  • Submit an essay entitled “My plan to become a servant leader for the church”

HAWKEYE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established for students from Iowa.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Degree seeking student taking 11 or more credit hours
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.00 both college and high school
  • Be an Iowa Resident
  • Submit a 1 page essay on how you have demonstrated Christian character and leadership skills

THE BRADLEY GOOD CITIZENSHIP AWARD

This scholarship was established to promote good citizenship.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Students must demonstrate
    • an aptitude for good money management skills
    • good interpersonal relationship skills
    • spiritual values
  • Applicants must submit the Bradley Good Citizen Award application to the Financial Aid Office by June 30th of each year.
