Position Overview

The Prep Cook will assist in the daily preparation of meals by assisting the cooks in the meal production including chopping vegetables, preparing salads, preparing side dishes, and putting together entrees. Also perform other duties in the areas of food preparations for the buffet menu items. Setting up, serving, and restocking, while providing excellent customer service. They will also provide assistance with catering services.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for food preparation assigned by the Food Service Director
  • Daily sanitation of equipment and supplies, workstation, and service station.
  • Comply with quality standards established by Randolph County Health Department
  • Assist with the catering services.
  • Responsible for all other assignments assigned by Food Service Director
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Accountability

  • You will be evaluated on the quality and quantity of food/work produced on a daily basis. A policy of clean-as-you-go is expected when possible. Worktables, sinks, carts, and equipment must be clean during and after the shift.

EDUCATION/POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • You need to have a positive attitude and provide great customer service
  • You must be responsible, accountable, dependable, and flexible
  • You must be able to be organized, completing multiple tasks in a period of time
  • You must be able to spend most of the day walking, standing, stooping, or bending and be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • You must be able to help out where needed and multitask
  • You must be able to recognize and maintain the highest standards in regard to appearance and flavor of food served in dining hall and at catered events
  • Must be able to accurately take foods temperatures and keep foods out of the danger zone
  • Experience in food preparation is preferred.

Pay: $15.50/hr

Expected Hours Per Week: 14-16 during the academic year
