From time to time, the Financial Aid office may request that you send information to the college. One of the most common reasons for this request is because your FAFSA may have been selected for verification by the Department of Education. If selected you will need to send the following items:
- If you did not choose to use the IRS Data Retrieval feature while you were filling our your FAFSA, or were not eligible to use the IRS Data Retrieval feature, you will need your *IRS Return Tax Transcript. If you are a dependent student according to the Dept. of Education definition (see Financial Aid Handbook for complete definition) you must submit not only your 2013 tax information, but your parent's 2013 tax information as well.
- Verification Worksheet sent by the Financial Aid Office
- Special Income Verification Items sent by the Financial Aid Office
*To obtain a 2013 IRS Tax Return Transcript, go to www.IRS.gov and click on the “Get Transcript of Your Tax Records.” Make sure to request the “IRS Tax Return Transcript” and not the “IRS Tax Account Transcript.” Use the Social Security Number (or the IRS individual taxpayer identification number) and the date of birth of the first person listed on the 2013 IRS income tax return, and the address on file with the IRS (normally this will be the address used on the 2013 IRS income tax return).
Please do not send your Tax Returns, We need your Tax Transcript from the IRS.
