Exhortation from President Oakes

Dr. Ron Oaks, president

The founding Board of Directors in 1957, led by chairman O. S. Lincoln, unanimously affirmed that

“the purpose of the school is to recruit and train leadership for the church at large according to the New Testament teaching."

Central continues that legacy of a strongly conservative, biblically grounded, higher educational institution that consistently champions the rock-solid principles of the Restoration Movement. Since 1957, over 4,100 students have studied under kingdom-focused, globally commissioned professors. These servant-leaders pass on to others this legacy of loving the Word of God. They understand scriptural doctrine and teach those truths all around the world, serving as preachers, ministers, and missionaries.

All four-year ministry programs require 54 hours of Bible and theology.

This legacy that is rooted in Scripture needs to grow! The world needs more authentic kingdom leaders who passionately penetrate the darkness with the light of God’s Word. According to the Joshua Project, there are 6,954 unreached people groups in the world, totaling 2.84 billion people who need Jesus. Paul tells us in Romans 10:14-15:

“And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent?”

Central sends out servant-leaders for the church. Since 2000, more than 750 Central graduates have been sent to serve. The lasting value of Central’s legacy will be sustained by this “Growing Our Legacy” campaign and your partnership. Together we can provide resources for the full-tuition scholarship, for the safety and security of our students, and for the proper stewardship of campus facilities.
