Mrs. Gelven’s entire career was in education, first as a high school Language Arts teacher and later as a principal and director of an alternative school. She holds B.A.’s in English and Political Science from the University of Houston, an M.A. in Secondary Education from Lincoln U and an M.A. in Public Administration , Personnel Management from UMC. She serves on the Student Success and the Admissions committees.
Sue and her late husband, Don, are the parents of three children and grandparents of eight. They were charter members of Community Christian Church in Linn, which has always supported CCCB financially, by sending young people to attend, and by attending Men’s Day and Women’s Day.
Sue wrote, “Romans 10:14-15 has long touched my heart and spurred my actions. I view CCCB as meeting that challenge in a very positive and successful way.”
