CENTRAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE OF THE BIBLE ANNOUNCES GRADUATE DEGREE IN MINISTRY LEADERSHIP

MOBERLY, Mo. – Central Christian College of the Bible announces its first graduate degree, the Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership, which will begin its classes in the fall of 2020. The program gained national accreditation approval by the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) in November of 2019.

Central Christian College of the Bible’s mission is to prepare servant-leaders for the church. It was founded in 1957 with the purpose of training leaders for the church at large according to the New Testament’s teaching. The Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership is designed to advance the ministry careers of leaders beyond their undergraduate college experience. It will help leaders form their spiritual lives as they make practical use of God’s Word while serving in the local church.

The Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership will be under the leadership of Dr. Billy Strother. Dr. Strother formally joins the faculty of CCCB in February as Dean of Graduate Studies and Professor of Preaching and New Testament.

The degree is offered in partnership with Hope International University, which is providing the online courses and a path for students to utilize CCCB’s program into further graduate studies from either HIU or other graduate programs. The College is also utilizing partnerships with regional churches to create locations where graduate students can be involved in growing congregations that serve as an on-site classroom for those serving in ministry.

“The Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership offers a real alternative for potential students and fulfills a recognized need within our constituency,” comments Dr. Jim Estep, Vice President of Academics at CCCB. “Central will be one of the few institutions of biblical higher education that provides this unique opportunity for those serving in the church to enhance their ministry careers and boost the health of their church.”

The 36-credit program can be completed in two years, with nine credits of graduate courses taken each semester. The program utilizes three teaching modalities: an eight-week online course per semester, a one-week course taken on campus each semester, and a church-based coaching course each semester at the student’s ministry location. Students will pay approximately $10,000 total for the degree, which can be incorporated with their work or ministry responsibilities.

President David Fincher believes the addition of this program will enhance the careers of those serving in ministry. Dr. Fincher said, “One of our core values is to offer access to excellent and relevant academic programs and personal development experiences at an affordable cost. The Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership does all of those things in a context that can be utilized by recent Bible college graduates, current ministers, and congregational members who want to expand their ministry leadership capacity.”

Central Christian College of the Bible is accredited by the Association of Biblical Higher Education, and offers over 10 undergraduate ministry degree programs and over 25 programs in marketplace ministry programs through partner schools.
