While pursuing initial regional accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission, Central Christian College of the Bible was evaluated by three site visit teams and two institutional action councils. Each of them recommended that our candidacy status with HLC should continue.
We accomplished significant improvements during the four years of candidacy with the Higher Learning Commission. Our staff worked hard to accomplish having all the core components judged to be either “met” or “met with concerns.”
Following a letter from the HLC Board and a conversation with our HLC liaison, Central’s executive leadership team and the Board of Directors agreed to withdraw voluntarily from the process, effective July 31, 2017. This information can be seen on the HLC website at this link.
We are eligible to restart the process after a mandatory one-year waiting period. During that time, the College’s leadership will evaluate our future relationship with the Higher Learning Commission while continuing to follow the core components. Our students remain eligible for the same financial aid and partnership options with regionally accredited institutions on the basis of our continued national accreditation with the Association for Biblical Higher Education.
