Gain the tools to bring the Bible to life and the ability to share that wonder and knowledge with others.

This program is designed to make the student intimately familiar with the original languages the Bible was written in. The graduate leaves with the ability to read and research the text thoroughly and apply this deepened understanding to a variety of ministries and careers, such as preaching ministry, Bible translation, and teaching. Just about any kind of ministry is open to a Bible Research major.

This program may be right for you if:

  • You want to leave with the ability to apply a more thorough understanding of the Bible to a variety of ministries

The Biblical Research degree program can either be pursued as a four year major or as a minor in conjunction with any of our other major options. With classes like Orientation to Biblical Research, Bible Backgrounds, and all the language courses Central has to offer, the Biblical Research Program is designed to:

  • Take the student deeper into God’s Word, particularly through an intensive treatment and understanding of the original languages.
  • Teach the student how to thoroughly and adequately conduct academic research into Biblical texts
  • Equip the student to take these studies and make them useful in ministerial, academic, and other contexts

In this program, you can expect:

  • High academic rigor
  • Exposure to unique learning experiences
  • Becoming familiar with the original languages of the biblical texts
Degree Options:
  • Bachelor of Arts: 4 year degree [Seminary / Graduate school preparation, Pastor, Bible Translator, Theological writer / editor]
  • Associate of Biblical Studies: 2 year degree [Bible teacher, church volunteer, bivocational ministry]
  • Biblical Research Minor: 15 credits [Research / Bible study and Biblical language skills]
  • Certificate of Biblical Knowledge: 32 credits [Personal development and teaching preparation]
  • Certificate of Bible and Ministry: 16 credits [Personal development and church leadership]
