CENTRAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE OF THE BIBLE ANNOUNCES FULL-TUITION SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS OF THE INAUGURAL TORCH SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION

MOBERLY, Mo. – Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB) announces the recipients of the inaugural Full-Tuition Torch Scholarship Competition. The Full-Tuition Torch Scholarship, worth $37,000 of tuition and fees over four years, was announced in early May.  The competition, which included an interview with the Torch Scholars Committee and an essay, was rigorous and intense. The candidates averaged a 3.67 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and a 25 ACT score, and the following students emerged among the best of a very impressive group of high achieving students:

Jay Owens – Southside, Alabama

Grace Dablemont – Columbia, Missouri

Lydia Berkoff – Craig, Colorado

Jalen Redburn – Moberly, Missouri

All students who vied for the scholarship are deemed Torch Scholars and gained automatic admission into Saints Scholars, CCCB’s honors program. Dr. Fincher, president of Central Christian College of the Bible, was extremely impressed with the outcomes of the competition. “These students are part of a distinctive group of students who will engage in rigorous and fascinating coursework, while developing unique leadership skills to prepare them for Kingdom work.” Competitors will be presented the Torch medallion at CCCB’s new student registration day in June.

Central Christian College of the Bible announced in September 2019 that it is lowering the overall annual price of tuition, fees, and housing by nearly 20%, including consistent tuition costs for all enrollment methods, a drastic reduction of the student services fee, and low-cost incentives for non-traditional and new-market students to start a college education. This new pricing program includes competitive full-tuition scholarships, personalized academic scholarships, and need-based grants through the new Torch Scholarship Program. This will make the experience at Central affordable for even more students starting in the fall semester of this year.

Founded in 1957, Central Christian College of the Bible’s mission is to develop servant-leaders for the church. CCCB is nationally accredited by the Association of Biblical Higher Education, and offers 10 areas of study in Bible and ministry careers and over 25 programs in other careers through partner schools.
