Satisfactory Academic Progress

Central Christian College of the Bible considers Satisfactory Academic Progress to be the successful earning of at least a 1.70 GPA for freshmen (students with less than 30 hours earned) and at least a 2.00 GPA for sophomores and above (students with over 30 hours earned). Students not making satisfactory academic progress are placed on Academic Probation (Academic Alert, Academic Warning, or Academic Suspension).

ACADEMIC ALERT
Students will be placed on Academic Alert if they earn a semester GPA of 0.70-1.69 for freshmen or 0.70-1.99 for sophomores or above. Incoming students may also be placed on Academic Alert if their highest standardized test (ACT or SAT) score is under the 50th percentile or their high school class rank is under the 50th percentile. Students on Academic Alert will be limited to 13 academic hours for that semester and will be required to regularly attend supervised study sessions. A student who earns a semester GPA of 1.70 or above for freshmen or 2.00 for sophomores and above will be removed from Academic Alert.

ACADEMIC WARNING
Students will be placed on Academic Warning if they earn a cumulative GPA below 1.70 for second semester freshmen or below 2.00 for sophomores and above. Students on Academic Warning will be limited to 13 academic hours and will be required to regularly attend supervised study sessions. Students on Academic Warning are restricted from all extra-curricular activities. A student on Academic Warning must earn a semester GPA higher than the cumulative GPA in order to maintain Academic Warning status. Immediate Academic Suspension may result from failure to show academic progress. A student who reaches the appropriate cumulative GPA of 1.70 for freshmen or 2.00 for sophomores and above will be removed from Academic Warning.

ACADEMIC SUSPENSION
Students will be placed on Academic Suspension if they earn a semester GPA lower than their cumulative GPA while on Academic Warning. In addition, students will immediately be placed on Academic Suspension if they have any one of the following: A semester GPA of under 0.70, a cumulative GPA of below 1.70 for 30+ hours earned, and a cumulative GPA of below 2.00 for 60+ hours earned. A student on Academic Suspension will not be allowed to enroll as a student at Central for one semester. A student on Academic Suspension can only return to the College after successfully applying for readmission, presenting evidence of improved potential for academic success.

APPEALS COMMITTEE
A student placed on Academic Alert, Academic Warning, or Academic Suspension may make an appeal to the appeals committee within 10 days of notification of their suspension. The decision of the appeals committee will be final.
