Course Formats
Most courses in the schedule meet on a weekly basis. The number of hours for which the course meets signifies how many 55 minute periods per week will meet for that course. Some three-hour courses meet for two 80 minute periods, while others meet for three 55 minute periods.
The Numbering System
The course numbering system will indicate the division & subdivision of each course and the level of the course. The three letters indicate the division and the area the course occupies in the curriculum. Courses numbered in the 100s are designed primarily for freshmen; those numbered in the 200s are designed for sophomores or above; those numbered in the 300s are designed for upperclassmen.
Distance Learning (DL) Courses
The College offers a few courses through the Christian College Consortium for Distance Learning (www.restorationed.org). Those courses which are available through Central are listed with a DL label. Instead of having a prerequisite, the course equivalent is noted. Information about credentials of distance education faculty is available upon request from the academic office. Online courses taught by Central teachers are equivalent to the onsite courses and have the same course description. |
